Entropic Communications
Entropic Communications Inc. was a newly formed fabless semiconductor company with a breakthrough technology for home networking. They sought out Pelagic Group to formulate a strategy and execute a plan to establish their technology as the de facto standard for home networking over in-premise TV cable with the dominant network and equipment providers. Pelagic Group developed and executed a plan to form an industry consortium around Entropic’s technology that included founding members Comcast, Cisco, Motorola, Cox, Intel, Dish Network, Panasonic among others to endorse and utilize Entropic’s technology. This organization, the Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) remains the authority for in home coax networking and the Entropic technology is deployed by virtually every significant video service provider in the US. Entropic went public in 2007 and was acquired by MaxLinear Technology in 2015.
